Because traveling the world is cheaper than just staying put!

Introducing: iCruise for the iPhone!

April2

iCruise is finally here! Similar to our Airfare app for finding the best deals on flights, iCruise is an app for finding the best deals on, drumroll please… Cruises!

tl;dr (Summary)

What is iCruise? iCruise is an iPhone or iPod Touch app that finds the cheapest cruise to almost anywhere in the world. Put in your destination (or don’t, if you don’t care where you go and just want a great deal going there) and find the guaranteed best rate on a cruise!

iCruise is the very first cruise search app in the app store, and reasonably so: iCruise took about 3x longer to develop than cheapEscape. This is due in part to the extensive search options, as well as sorting capabilities on the results page. Let’s get into the meat of it – here’s the initial splash screen for iCruise.

The next screen shows the plethora of search options available to you. Desination, Cruise Length, Price, Date, Cruise Line and Departure Port. The area below that is for special discounts, if you live in certain states, some cruise lines will give you a discount. The same is true for having cruised on the same cruise line before as well as being a senior citizen.

Clicking on one of the dropdowns brings up the chooser, here’s an example of clicking on the destination dropdown:

After putting in your criteria, click the ‘Find my cruise’ button. The following screen shows the results of your search. You can scroll down the page to see other options, or you can sort them by price, ship rating, trip length and cruise line. iCruise shows the image of the ship, the cruise line logo, departure date(s) and ports of call. You can also see the CruiseCritic rating, and the average rating from previous cruisers on that ship.

After clicking on the ‘Cruise Itinerary’ button, you are taken to the … cruise itinerary page. Here we give a detailed list of ports of call, as well as dates/times for each one. Below that, there is a listing of days the cruise runs on. The prices differ between dates, so be sure you check that first.

After you click on ‘Select this cruise’ you are taken to a booking webpage, which allows you to select which room you want, etc.

    Thanks David!

It gets data from quite a few different websites and returns the cheapest ones (or the best ones, depending on how you sort)
