I have used Boingo but when I did I was unaware that they charged roaming fees and came home to a big bill after having worked a couple of weeks abroad... Some of the hotels and airports I passed through offered the possibility to log in with your boingo account but they didn't clearly mention the roaming fees and I thought I was covered...
To me $60 still seems a lot, but if you travel several times a month it might be worth it!

Great info. I recently took a trip to Hungary and boingo was perfect. I made all my deadlines and stayed in contact with my family. But I did eat a lot of big macs

Very informative post. I used Boingo with much success on a recent trip to San Francisco, great way to avoid the ridiculous hotel wi-fi charges. I was recently accepted for a Tetherberry www.tetherberry.com/ mac beta. Going to try it on my mac next week during holidays. Thanks
